Common causes are a dirty air filter or clogged condenser coil, low refrigerant from a leak, a failed run capacitor, a frozen evaporator coil, a tripped breaker, or a thermostat set wrong. Set the thermostat to COOL and a few degrees below room temperature, replace a dirty filter, and check the breaker. Common causes are dead thermostat batteries or wrong settings, a tripped breaker or blown fuse, the furnace door safety switch, or a full condensate pan tripping the float switch. Check the thermostat, reset the breaker once, make sure the furnace door is closed, and look for water in the drain pan. If it still won’t start, call us.

Usually a clogged condensate drain line, a cracked drain pan, a thawing frozen coil, a failed condensate pump, or high-efficiency furnace condensate that can’t drain. Turn the system off, clear or vacuum the drain line if you can, and keep water away from electrical parts. If it keeps leaking, call us.
